Papyrus Australia (PPY) aims to commercialise a process of making paper from the fibres of banana tree trunks (banana ply paper "BPP"). The company's commercialisation project will be based in Adelaide and North Queensland.Papyrus is the parent entity of Papyrus Technology Pty Ltd which has been carrying out research and development into the project since 1996. PPY listed on the Australian stockmarket (ASX) on 15 April, 2005 using the equity raised to construct full scale commercial manufacturing facilities.
