Largest LNG project Gorgon Cost Blowout


Australia's largest LNG project Gorgon, has a US$15 billion cost blowout as announced at Chevron's 2012 Q4 results. The Gorgon LNG project is located 130 kilometres off the north west coast of Western Australia.

Moly Mines Puts Spinifex Ridge Project On Hold


Chinese controlled Moly Mines (MOL) has put its $700 million Spinifex Ridge molybdenum and copper project on hold due to molybdenum price decrease and strong Australian dollar. The company, however, will return in the market with a fund lower at $US244 million from its financier China Development Bank, which was previously amounted to $454 million.

Transfield has $1.1 billion work in Q1 2010-11


Services contractor, Transfield (ASX:TSE) has secured $1.1 billion worth of work in the first quarter of 2010-11 fiscal year. $670 million was with existing clients.
