S&P/ASX Emerging Companies Index (XEC) is a capitalisation index for the Australian Stock Exchange. S&P/ASX XEC Index comprises of microcap stocks by market capitalisation in Australia. The weighting method is "float-adjusted market-cap weighted" and is rebalanced semiannually in March and September.
The index allows investors to analyse the microcap segment of the Australian equity market. The S&P/ASX Emerging Companies Index has a maximum quota of 200 shares.
