Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) is one of the world’s leading uranium producers. The company produces 10 per cent of the world's uranium demand. ERA is actively involved in the mining, processing and selling of uranium, and catering for environmental consulting services by EWL Sciences Pty Ltd. Energy Resources of Australia was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) in 19 November, 1980. Energy Resources of Australia main operating divisions include uranium and consulting. ERA is geographically distributed across Asia, United States and Europe.
According to CEO Rob Atkinson, Energy Resources of Australia (ASX:ERA) has one of the largest uranium resources under its existing open pit mine. Atkinson is confident that extensive drilling for the last three years yields a 34 tonne resource which will be exhausted until 2012.
Uranium mine operations at the Ranger in Kakadu Park was suspended for extended periods due to heavy downpours, prompting Energy Resources of Australia (ASX:ERA) to report a $30-$50 million loss for the first half of 2011. This is against $22.7 million net profit for the same period last year.

One of the world’s major uranium producers, Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) have recorded a significant increase of output at Australia’s largest uranium mine in the last quarter by reaching almost full capacity. The company came up with the massive output in an attempt to boost up its profit for the later half of the year. Energy Resources increased its capacity by 22 percent to 1481 tonnes from its Ranger mine that is located in Kakadu National park.
