Tox Free Solutions (TOX) is a Perth-based company, operating in hazardous waste management. The company provides remediation and recycling solutions for contaminated soils, water treatment and hazardous waste treatment. The company operates two treatment facilities at Port Hedland and Kwinana.
TOX listed on the Australian stock market (ASX) on 29 September, 2000. In 2004, the company undertook a major restructure to improve the business's profitability. This involved capital raising, changes in senior management and elimination of loss making activities.
The Port Hedland Facility primarily treats industrial waste generated in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The company holds two hazardous waste treatment licences, which are difficult to obtain under strict EPA regulations. Major customers include land developers, construction and resources companies. TOX competes with other waste management firms such as Baxter.
On July 1, 2008, the Company completed the acquisition of Barry Bros. Specialised Services Pty Ltd (Barry Bros.). On January 15, 2008, the Company acquired Karratha Mini Skips. In May 2010, the Company completed the acquisition of Envirochem Technologies.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection
Local authorities and government agencies contract Tox Free to undertake household hazardous waste collection and management. Tox Free's chemical expertise in handling a broad range of hazardous chemicals ensures this service is carried out safely and efficiently.
Tox Free provide inventories of material collected, label and repackage materials for transport, organize licensed transport and treat the materials. This service is all provided "In House' which enables Tox Free to offer the most competitive and efficient service in the business.
Materials managed include, paints, turpentine, spent fuel, resins, glues, pool chemicals, pesticides, acids, alkalis, household cleaning chemicals, automotive and workshop chemicals such as paint strippers, degreasers, coolants, oil filters etc. No matter what the material Tox Free will manage it.
