Transfield Services (TSE) extends services in the areas of operations, maintenance, and asset and project management. It caters services to major businesses in the resources and industrial, infrastructure services and property and facilities management fields. The Company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 3rd May, 2001. To date the Company employs over 29,000 people across Australia, New Zealand, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, New Caledonia, South East Asia, India, Chile and Canada. TSE is also included in the S&P/ASX 100.
Construction and maintenance company, Transfield (ASX:TSE) have announced its half year financial results for 2013 to its shareholders and investors on the Australian stockmarket.
- Transfield Services posted a $247 million Loss for the 6 months.
- Transfield chief executive Graeme Hunt said, " We are cutting parts that are not aligned with strategy or do not meet our margin, capital or growth criteria."
Construction and maintenance company Transfield (ASX:TSE) have announced writedowns ahead of its half year results next week.
- Transfield Services have announced an impairment of between $270 million and $285 million in relation to its asternwell Minerals exploration and marine geotechnical businesses, as well as its US downstream maintenance business, Timec.

Transfield (ASX:TSE) will sell its USM unit in the United States for $240.3 million. Chief Executive Peter Goode, said the deal "represents the latest step in our strategy to focus our Americas business on higher value services in the two key sectors of Resources and Infrastructure Services.''
