Warrnambool Cheese and Butter Factory Company Holdings (WCB) manufactures and distributes a variety of high quality dairy products which include cheese, milk powder, butter, cream, whey protein concentrate and packaged milk. WCB supplies its dairy products to both domestic and international customers. It exports its cheese and butter products to Japan, Korea, USA and throughout Europe and South East Asia. The Company listed on the ASX on May 27, 2004 and to date it employs more than 300 people. WCB supplies fresh packaged milk branded Sungold and FM flavored milks in Victoria, mainly through milk bars, convenience stores, petrol stations, supermarkets, restaurants, institutions, such as hospitals and at special events. WCB produces full cream, low fat, no fat and lite one fresh milk products, available in cartons and plastic bottles in a range of sizes. The Company sells a variety of waxed and packed regular and flavored cheddar cheeses under the Warrnambool brand in Australia. The Company also exports Warrnambool-branded cheddar to the United Kingdom and the United States. It sells its cheese under its Great Ocean Road brand. WCB is now the fourth largest milk processor in Australia producing over 83,000 tonnes of dairy produce every year. The Company is currently sourcing milk from south western regions and central Victoria, the Fleurieu Peninsula, the Hills and south-eastern regions of South Australia. The Company has a milk collection and storage depot in Mt Gambier, South Australia and a manufacturing plant in Allansford, South West Victoria which is the largest single milk processing site in Australia.
Warrnambool Cheese & Butter Factory Co Hold History
The Company was created in 1888 by a group of local merchants and residents. WCB is the oldest surviving Dairy Company in Australia, producing cheese and butter for more than 118 years. It listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on May 27th 2004. In 1888, WCB had only six milk suppliers. Today it sources milk from more than 600 suppliers from South Australia and Victoria, which are supplying over 800 million litres of milk to the Company each year.
