Westfield Retail Trust (WRT) will be Australia's largest domestic retail focused real estate investment trust, having assets with a current book value of approximately $12 billion. WRT's principal investment will be the joint venture ownership, alongside Westfield Group, in a pre-eminent and unrivalled shopping centre portfolio comprising interests in 54 major shopping centres located predominantly in Australia with 10% of the assets located in New Zealand. It was listed on the Australian Stockmarket (ASX) on 13 December, 2010.
Westfield Bondi Junction
Westfield Bondi Junction is Westfield's global flagship centre, which set a new international benchmark in shopping centre design. Launched in mid‐2004, Westfield Bondi Junction has established its leadership position thanks to its unique architecture, premium ambience, retail mix and innovative shopper services.
The centre, located just 6 kilometres east of the Sydney Central Business district, features over 500 retailers. Westfield Bondi Junction is well serviced by both rail and bus public transport, having major interchange terminals for both located adjacent to the centre.
Westfield Bondi Junction is anchored by David Jones, Myer, Target, Coles and Woolworths. The centre also has an 11‐screen, 2,000 seat Event cinema complex, including two Gold Class theatres.
Highlights
Westfield Bondi Junction is a mecca for the fashion conscious with a designer fashion precinct offering two floors of fashion from international designers including Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Hugo Boss, and Paul & Joe. Leading Australian fashion designers are also well represented with Alannah Hill, Sass & Bide, Bettina Liano, Calibre, and Zimmermann. The homewares precinct at Westfield Bondi Junction features eminent retailers such as Hart & Heim, Kartell, Ordio and Top3 by Design.
The centre also features a leisure and lifestyle precinct, including a Fitness First Platinum gymnasium. The Eastern Hotel and restaurants including Kam Fook, Bondi Pizza and Kelly's Bar and Grill have re‐established Bondi Junction as an after‐dark destination.
