WHK Group (WHG) is a major financial services provider. It extends a diverse range of financial services in the areas of accounting, taxation, audit and assurance, estate planning, corporate and business advisory, wealth management, financial planning, superannuation advice, risk and general insurance and finance broking services. WHK Group listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on July 17th, 1987. As at 30 June 2008, WHG had more than 3,200 staff employed throughout six Australian states including both islands of New Zealand. The Company operates 130 offices and it is providing advice and contract administration on more than $8.5 billion of clients' funds and $2.3 billion of clients' loans. WHG operates a distribution network across Australia and New Zealand which includes 20 key accountancy firms, with a specialist financial services segment in each Australian firm; a non-affiliated Adelaide-based specialist financial planning firm, Prescott Securities Ltd, and 30% strategic investment in Next Financial Limited. The Company has two business divisions: Business Services and Financial Services. The Business Services division includes accounting, taxation, audit and assurance, estate planning, business advisory and corporate advisory services. The Financial Services division includes financial planning, risk and general insurance, self-managed superannuation and finance broking services. WHG has recently coupled with Horwath International, which is one of the top 10 international accounting affiliations. It has completed the re-branding of its four largest Australian capital city firms "WHK Horwath". WHK Group is the second largest independent financial services Company providing services to over 200,000 clients. It is also the 5th largest accounting business in Australia and New Zealand in terms of annualised fee income.
WHK Group History
The Company commenced operations as an engineering, surveying and town planning services provider. It listed on the ASX in 1987. In late 1997, the Company shifted its focus from its core business of engineering/surveying to the provision of financial services and sold off the bulk of its non-financial services business operations. The Company changed its name to IGP in April 1998 and adopted its present name WHK Group Limited (WHG) in October 2005.
