Australian shares
Australian shares have consistently outperformed other investment types including property over the long term, making them a valuable wealth creation tool. With over 1,900 companies from a large number of industries listed on the ASX, you can invest across a diverse range of securities. This diversification can reduce your overall investment risk, as well as providing you access to different companies, sectors and industries.
Unlike many other asset types, with shares you can begin with a small investment and build a portfolio over time. You can choose the securities you invest in according to your objectives, and as a shareholder, you’ll benefit from dividends and/or capital growth.
Even better, you pay no stamp duty or legal fees when you invest in shares, and they can offer some potential tax advantages. Most shares are also liquid, so you can buy and sell quickly, and can usually access your cash within three business days of selling.
Investing in shares through us is fast and simple, with competitive brokerage and a range of free research tools to help you make the most informed investment decisions.
Exchange Traded Options
With options, you can potentially benefit from price movements in any direction, as well as protect your portfolio by reducing volatility. You can use options to tailor a range of strategies, from the simple to the more complex, to match your investment goals and your appetite for risk.
Warrants
Warrants are unique trading instruments that are issued by banks and other institutions and traded on the ASX, warrants are 'non-standard' - in other words, each one is different and will offer different features.
IPO’s
Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) are used by companies to raise new capital for expansion or to support new or existing business initiatives. For the investor, IPOs and new issues offer an opportunity to invest in securities before they are listed with the ASX — a chance to get in early.
IPOs and new issues are typically priced at a discount to current market levels and comparable stocks, making them a potentially attractive investment. For example, in the 2007 financial year, newly listed securities first traded on the ASX at an average premium of 11.6%1 above the price that was offered to investors in the IPO. You can subscribe to email alerts for new offers, and when you apply, you’ll pay no brokerage.
Structured Products
Structured products are essentially unique, tailored investment solutions, offering an alternative to standardised financial products. Recent years have seen significant growth in investor interest in structured products, and many products that were once accessible only to institutional investors are becoming popular with retail investors.
Structured products can offer exposure to a wide range of asset classes — equities, interest rates, currencies, precious metals, managed funds, hedge funds, real estate, loans and commodities — as well as opportunities for portfolio diversification, capital protection, enhanced income and accelerated growth.
